Procrast-Nation the Gathering, Part IV

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

In this section, I figured I would focus heavily on the Avant-Garde type creatures.  These are strange drawings, primarily ones I have done on paint or doodled, and I use the term Avant-Garde sort of interchangeably with poor quality.  Anyway, these cards tend to be creature types, and some grant positive benefits for all Avant-Garde type cards.  Avant-Garde Renaissance is an amazing card if you build a deck out of these creatures, as it  makes them more powerful and cheaper at the same time.  Also, the Mutant Wet Nurse is another great card if someone is playing with a primarily Avante-Garde deck.  One playing with these creatures would want to focus primarily on forest and island mana when adding lands to their deck.

Bar at the Folies Detail

Thursday, July 16th, 2009

So I didn’t have a whole lot of time… well its more a matter of will power actually.  I have a long post I intended on releasing a week ago, but I’m not happy with it, so in the meantime, I did a detail of Manet’s Bar at the Folies.  I didn’t do the entire thing because it is incredibly intricate and detailed, and rather than have the entire recreation become incoherent do to my inability to capture detail, I decided to focus on the central figure of the bartender instead.  This way I can hopefully convey the general gist of the painting.  If I tried to draw the mirror in the background and the hundreds of figures on mspaint, it would be a disaster.  Anyway, enjoy.

Curiosity in Blue

Just scroll to look at and attempt to comprehend. There is little more I can say. An attempt at abstract art. It does express a narrative you should be familiar with if you have read all of the posts on this site. Feel free to leave guesses in the comments section.

Trying my hand at Surrealism

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

I made these two images on MS paint. The first one I titled “Twins” and the second is titled “Overlord of Terror” Trying my hand at crudely modifying images and inverting colors. I’m fairly pleased with the outcome, especially in twins.

Old Maps from Unfinished Projects

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

Here are some map images for various unfinished projects that I had.

conflictless-town-part-1

This one was suppose to be a massive choose your own ending story without any real plot. The entire plot was that you needed to try and discover what the purpose of the story was. I had big plans for this one but lost interest.

Another MS Paint Portrait

Thursday, December 18th, 2008

After doing the presidential portraits, I took a look at some of the requests and selected John Updike as my next project.  I selected him because of his distinctive and interesting facial features.  Unfortunately, my portrayal does not convey the sort of jolliness that comes across in the pictures of him I found.  I ended up inadvertently making him look much creepier and more sickly than I intended to.  It came out interesting all the same though, so I hope you enjoy all 305800 pixels of pure Updikeness.

Presidential Race Portraits, MS PAINT Style

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

So I’ve decided I like drawing portraits in paint, and figured I’d try my hand and drawing a few famous people.  I figured since we just came off a pretty intense presidential race, I’d immortalize the results in paint.  So here they are, our Presidential Elect Barrack Obama:

and the other guy…

I’ll take requests for future portraits of famous people.  (423584 pixels)

My use of MS Paint and my first web comic

Friday, July 25th, 2008

The only image editing and generating software I use is Microsoft Paint (also known as mspaint.exe). I realize Paint is very limited in what it can do and that there are a vast array of better and much more versatile programs out there I could easily obtain and use such as Photoshop. I guess I just like the simplicity of Paint. Any web comics or other images I post on this blog will be generated using this program, so I hope this serves as an explanation for my unique and aesthetically unpleasing drawing style. Here is my first web comic, Suicidal Betty. Click to see all 868800 pixels of monochromatic goodness. Enjoy.
